Vote YES YES Saddle Mountain
Bond & Override
What's this about?
Saddle Mountain Unified School District is asking voters to approve a 15% budget override to maintain full-day kindergarten, to maintain low class sizes, to maintain CTE and electives, and to maintain extracurricular activities such as athletics and clubs.
The district is also requesting voters approve $150 million in bond funds to construct a new middle school and high school on the Sun Valley corridor and remodel Ruth Fisher Middle School to provide a second location for kindergarten through 5th grade students in Tonopah, enhance safety at all campuses, make improvements in school facilities, and purchase new buses.
All bond and override funds STAY in our
community
and are SPENT in our schools.
✓YES for Bond
- Expand and remodel Ruth Fisher into a separate elementary school and a separate middle school
- New middle school in Tartesso
- New high school in Teravalis
- Increase student safety and security
- School repairs, renovations, and improvements to all sites
- Purchase of school buses
- Technology for students and teachers
✓YES for Budget Override
- SAVE SMALL class sizes
- SAVE full day kindergarten
- SAVES art, music, and physical education
- SAVES athletics programs
- SAVES extra-curricular activities
- SAVES career & technical education
- Increase student achievement
- Increase salaries to attract and retain quality teachers and staff
What if bond fails?
Without the bond, needed repairs, improvements, and new school construction will be delayed for many years and will end up costing more.
What if Override fails?
Without the budget override, the District will have to cut more than $2.4 million from its annual operating budget. As a result, class sizes will increase, educational and student programs at all grade levels will be reduced or eliminated, jeopardizing property values in our community.
This means all registered voters in the district will receive their ballots by mail, and in-person polling places will not be available.
